Pro-Biden super PAC American Bridge hires Mike Bloomberg’s digital firm Hawkfish

Hawkfish, a tech firm founded by billionaire former presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg, has signed on with a pro-Joe Biden super PAC after missing out on working directly with the presumptive Democratic nominee’s campaign.

The super PAC, American Bridge, recently signed a contract with the Bloomberg firm, officials told CNBC.

The PAC has spent millions of dollars on ads on TV and online in support of the former vice president’s bid for the White House. The organization is also well known for its often-unmatched opposition research arm.

Former Sanders campaign co-chair Nina Turner compares voting for Biden to eating 'bowl of sh--'

Former Bernie Sanders campaign co-chair Nina Turner offered a not-so-appetizing analogy when asked about voting for presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

Turner, who was a prominent surrogate for Sen. Sanders, I-Vt., during the 2020 Democratic primary, expressed her lack of excitement for the former VP to The Atlantic.

“It’s like saying to somebody, ‘You have a bowl of sh-- in front of you, and all you’ve got to do is eat half of it instead of the whole thing.’ It’s still sh--," Turner described to Atlantic staff writer Peter Nicholas.

Harvard University professor Cornel West, who also supported Sanders during the primary, had a similar stance in the article.

"We have to be true to ourselves and acknowledge that Biden is a mediocre, milquetoast, neoliberal centrist that we’ve been fighting against in the Democratic establishment," West said.

Dare I say, I had hopes that this new administration would usher in the dawning of a new day. As picks for President-elect Joe Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) transition team were announced, I felt concerned and disheartened about a chemical industry insider being on the list. Are you kidding me?

...This smells of the dawn of the same old. To quote the Who: meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

It should go without saying that someone who advised DuPont on how to avoid regulations is not someone we want advising this new administration.

'It's f---ed up': Campaign staffers who helped Biden get elected are grumbling that ex-Obama officials are snatching up White House jobs

Members of President-elect Joe Biden's campaign are concerned about being swept aside as a growing number of former Obama administration staffers get tapped for jobs in the White House, Politico reported on Tuesday.

So far, Biden has tapped Obama administration alums for high-profile spots in legislative affairs, the first lady's office, and other departments. For his Cabinet, Biden selected Antony Blinken, who served as a deputy secretary of state and deputy national security advisor under President Barack Obama, to be his secretary of state. He also named former Secretary of State John Kerry as his climate czar.

While thousands of jobs have yet to be filled, many staffers who have stuck by Biden fear they won't picked for a new gig, Politico reported.

"The Obama staffers are now cutting out the people who got Biden elected," a senior Biden official told Politico. "None of these people found the courage to help the VP when he was running and now they are elevating their friends over the Biden people.

Key Democrat warns Biden not to nominate Mike Morell as CIA director

A key Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee is warning President-elect Joe Biden that he should avoid nominating a top contender for the job of CIA director, Mike Morell, because his record as a "torture apologist" makes confirmation a "nonstarter."

Morell, who was a deputy director of the CIA under President Barack Obama and twice served as the agency's acting director, is a contender to be nominated for the full-time role under Biden, according to two sources familiar with the deliberations, who note that others remain in the mix for the job.

But the prospect of Morell leading the CIA has prompted harsh criticism from members of Biden's own party -- namely Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon, a member of the Intelligence Committee who will ultimately vote on whether any nominee for the job is confirmed.
